Our paper "Vacuum and cryogenic compatible black surface for large optical baffles in advanced gravitational-wave telescopes" (T. Akutsu et al.) has been chosen for inclusion in the highlight articles (Spotlight in Optics) by the Optical Society of America (OSA).
The abstract: in this paper, we report optical properties, outgassing rate, and cryogenic performance of black surface used for large optical baffles in KAGRA. It shows the black coating is applicable to large and complicated surfaces. It also reports the surface roughness under the black coating affects the distribution of optical scattering from the black surface.
